Electrician Helper – Residential Services
At Beacon, we’ve built a team that sets a high standard and we’re looking to add to it. We’re seeking motivated Electrician Helpers with at least 1 year of experience who are eager to grow their skills and build a long-term career in the residential electrical trade.
This is a hands-on learning role designed for individuals who want to gain real-world experience working alongside skilled Journeyman Electricians in residential service environments throughout our Northern Virginia and Montgomery County, MD service area.
Success in this role comes from having a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the ability to support the team while developing technical skills in the field.

What We’re Looking For
● High school diploma or GED certificate
● Electrical experience preferred, ideally 1+ year of experience
● Completion of an electrician training program preferred
● Basic knowledge of NEC electrical codes
● Ability to diagnose problems using electronic test equipment
● Eagerness to learn electrical schematics and blueprint reading skills
● Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced electricians
● Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team
● Clean driving record preferred

Physical Requirements
● Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
● Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces
● Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits
● Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
What You’ll Do
● Assist Journeyman Electricians and follow instructions on residential job sites
● Prepare and maintain clean service vehicles and work areas
● Carry, organize, and deliver tools and materials as needed
● Install, repair, and maintain residential electrical wiring systems and equipment
● Use measuring equipment and hand tools to assist with conduit work
● Follow all safety codes, building regulations, and company procedures
● Support the team while learning troubleshooting and repair processes
● Maintain a professional appearance while wearing Beacon uniform daily
● Participate in trainings and hands-on development opportunities
